It is such an honour to work as a volunteer at Charlie's Angels Kitchens.
It is a fantastic concept to help make use of food waste and provide a pay as you feel ethos. It is great to be a food waste hero!
The project is driven by the inspirational Charlie Moore who has so many ideas up her sleeve. She creates a wonderful community feel to the kitchen and calls all her volunteers "Angels".
I love coming in to do my shift. It makes me feel I am doing something really worthwhile.
I have learnt so much about working in a café, from making coffee to front of house routines, helping in the kitchens and learning new recipes. What's not to like!
No shift is the same. Join us and help make Charlie's Angels Kitchens the place to go in Tunbridge Wells, and feel great doing it !!.

I have been doing some shifts at Charlie's Angels Kitchens on a Saturday, once a month.
This is a brilliant venture for our community by using food that would be discarded by supermarkets 👏.
What a waste when it's all still well within eating time.
It is a brilliant place to work. Why not come down to the Camden Road in Tunbridge Wells and try it out 😁

I volunteer for Charlie's Angels Kitchens in Tunbridge Wells, handling the Saturday morning collection. I love visiting local supermarkets to gather their surplus stock, filling up my car, and delivering it to the café just in time for the 10:30am opening. I always enjoy a quick chat with the team before heading off, usually to play tennis, with a spring in my step and a smile on my face.
It's a fantastic way to help reduce food waste and I highly recommend getting involved in this great local initiative!

I get so much out of volunteering at Charlie’s Angels Kitchens. Every day is different, whether chopping, roasting and making food or meeting customers and making coffees. I love seeing what surplus food arrives and what fantastic food is produced. Charlie is a force of nature and makes everyone, customers and volunteers alike, feel welcome and valued. The café has quite a special atmosphere that people comment on. It’s warm and relaxed with lots of chat. I’ve met so many people there and feel really connected to the community. Being an angel fits around my other work. I love the team and totally recommend taking a few hours out of your week to be a part of it.

Volunteering at Charlie's Angels Kitchens gives me a wonderful, feel-good factor. The hub it provides for all walks of life in the community is something very special.
